October 15, 2010
Sacramento - A 21-year-old driver has died after his car crashed into a utility pole along south of Elk Grove, said reports.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the man as James Thomas Dittmar, from Elk Grove.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers said the driver was moving eastbound on Lambert Road along Franklin Boulevard when his car suddenly went up a small hill, right over the railroad tracks. The vehicle then became airborne when it reached the top of the rise in the roadway.
After the car landed, it swerved to the left, went into a ditch, and crashed into a utility pole, said reports.
Dittmar was announced dead at the scene.
