CAR ACCIDENT: Yorba Linda driver dies in solo car accident

San Bernardino County – An 81-year-old man was killed instantly Friday afternoon when the car he was driving went off the road and into an embankment along Interstate 15, according to a news release in San Bernardino.
Earl Eugene Zahn, of Yorba Linda, was heading north of I-15 near Nipton Road at around 3:15 p.m. when his 1996 Buick Regal swerved to the road’s right shoulder and headed into a dirt mound.
Zahn was thrown from the car before it burst into flames. The driver was found dead at the scene by the authorities, the release said.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating factors that may have contributed to the car crash.
