CAR COLLISION: Woman injured in vehicle collision

July 26, 2010

Santa Ana – A female driver suffered severe injuries Monday morning after a rear-end collision involving an SUV and a truck on 5 Freeway north of Main Street, the California Highway Patrol said.

The woman was driving a dark gray Chevy Trailblazer on the southbound lane of 5 Freeway at around 9:53 a.m. when it rear-ended a white Isuzu stakebed truck, leaving pieces of debris on the road.

According to the report, the collision was so strong that the truck was almost lifted on the SUV’s roof. At about 9:57 a.m., both vehicles were moved by the Santa Ana Fire Department to the road’s right shoulder.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a tow truck that was responding at the scene was stuck at traffic says a CHP officer.
