Fullerton – The Fullerton woman who caused a fatal car accident that killed her daughter and boyfriend was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to two felony counts of vehicular manslaughter by unlawful act with gross negligence while intoxicated last October.
Tomeka Charee Harris, 29, was driving her Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle with her boyfriend, Alfred Flores, 27, and her daughter Zharia Keheian, 2, on the 91 freeway in high speed last January 12, 2008 at about 10 a.m. when she lost control while exiting the East Street off-ramp.
The vehicle then drove into a fence and crashed into a steel utility pole.
Flores and Zharia Keheian both died after sustaining serious head injuries.
Investigations later showed that Harris fell asleep at the wheel while under the influence of methamphetamine.
