VEHICLE COLLISION: San Diego Police Officer Seriously Injured after Colliding with Car

San Diego - A San Diego police officer has sustained serious injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car which suddenly blocked his path, said reports.
According to San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials, the officer identified as Bruce Byrd, 47, was moving east on Borden Road and was approaching an intersection when he collided with a Honda Civic driven by a 27-year-old woman, from Escondido, along the Palo Alto Court.
Reports said the Honda was moving north on Palo Alto Court when it turned left onto westbound of Borden Road and blocked the officer’s path.
The accident occurred while the officer was on his way to work. He was rushed to Palomar Medical Center to be treated for a compound leg fracture, laceration to the head, hip injury, and dislocated knee.
