CAR ACCIDENT: Reckless Driving Ends in a Fatal Accident in Alpine
May 6, 2011
Alpine - The California Highway Patrol has confirmed the death of Braulio Soliven Ellorin, 61, from San Diego, after recklessly driving his car along Interstate 8 and crashing at the center of the road past midnight Friday.
Ellorin was driving a Mazda Protégé westbound of Interstate 8 at Peutz Valley Road when he plunged down an embankment and over-turned few times before ending up around a hundred feet down the hill, said CHP officer Brian Pennings.
A witness testified that Ellorin was speeding around 100 mph and was recklessly winding his car before the accident occurred, Pennings added.
The authorities have yet to determine whether driver intoxication contributed to the accident.
