CAR ACCIDENT: PCH 10-Vehicular Crash Kills Three, Injures Three Others

Newport Beach - At least three people died and three other motorists were injured after a 10-vehicular crash on Pacific Coast Highway on Saturday.
According to Newport police reports, a Ford Taurus was speeding on south-east West Coast Highway when it over careered and crashed onto three vehicles and a Toyota Tacoma pick up. The Ford Taurus went on out of control and hit several cars, including one motorcycle at the intersection near Riverside Avenue.
The Ford driver, Julie Allen (27), was pronounced dead at the scene along with Christopher De la Cruz (49) and Linda Burnett (69), reports said.
Rescuers had to extricate the bodies and transport the three injured people to a local hospital. The motorcycle driver underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition. The two others were treated on minor injuries.
Newport Beach Police officers closed both lanes of south-east Pacific Coast Highway for nine hours. Witnesses commented that the accident site occurred on a crowded intersection.
Authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
