Man Passed Out while Driving, Caused Fatal Car Crash

Laguna Hills – The fatal car crash in Laguna Hills yesterday may have been caused by a driver passing-out because of a medical condition, an Orange County Sheriff’s Department official said.

According to reports, the 27-year-old driver may have passed out while driving eastbound on Alicia Parkway with a 4-year-old passenger.

He consequently rear-ended a Cadillac that was occupied by Cheryl Louise Jordan, 60, and an unidentified 58-year-old driver.

Jordan was killed in the car accident and the 58-year-old driver was brought to Western Medical Center –Santa Ana for treatment of head injuries.

The 27-year-old driver and the 4-year-old child sustained minor injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are still under investigation.
