Pedestrian Accident: Oakland Man Killed in Oakland Hit-and-Run Accident
May 23, 2011Oakland – A 72-year-old man was killed early Monday when an unidentified driver hit him while he was crossing the southbound lanes of Interstate 880 in Oakland, the California Highway Patrol said.
According to reports, several witnesses saw the man crawling across I-880 near park Street at about 12:30 am. Authorities said the man might have been struck by more than one vehicle, and none of them stopped.
All southbound 880 lanes were closed for several minutes while officers investigated the scene.
The CHP has still no information about the driver or drivers who ran over the man.
