Light Pole Crushes Corvette Following 2-Car Collision

Newport Beach – A Corvette was nearly split in half after a light pole fell on its back-end following a 2-car collision in Newport Beach.
According to the California Highway Patrol, they received a report about a car accident just after 1pm.
The collision took place in the intersection of Newport Avenue and Macy Drive in North Tustin when a gray Chevy Equinox made an unsafe left turn into a Red Chevrolet Corvette.
The Corvette careened into a concrete light pole that fell right into the car, crushing it.
The driver of the Corvette was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
There were no details as of the moment if the CHP will file any charges against the driver of the Equinox.
