September 1, 2010
Hunder Lane - A single-car crash that resulted to a rollover caused major injuries to its driver on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 12:41 am on Highway 25, south of Hunder Lane. The driver of the 2000 Lincoln Town, Jagindar Garwal, 51, lost control of the vehicle while traveling north.
The car went off-road and flipped multiple times. CHP spokesman Jaime Rios said that Garwal was alone in his car when the accident happened.
Medics found him in the backseat when they arrived on the scene. Investigation revealed that Garwal was not wearing his seatbelt, but the CHP believes that alcohol is not the cause of the accident.
Authorities said the victim was sent to the Regional Medical Center of San Jose where he is expected to recover from his injuries. Garwal broke his arms, some ribs, and possibly his neck too. He also suffered internal bleeding and lacerations on the face.
Rios added that Garwal was in and out of consciousness so officers have not yet talked to him.
