VEHICLE COLLISION: Half Moon Bay Head-on Crash Sends Two to Hospital

Half Moon Bay – At least two people were sent to the hospital after a head-on crash on Highway 1 Tuesday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was reported at about 4:50 am south of Capistrano Road, near Half Moon Bay Airport, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said. The report mentioned that two vehicles allegedly driving in opposite lanes had crashed head-on into each other.
Both drivers were injured and airlifted to Stanford Hospital. One of the drivers who’s around 70 years old suffered major injuries, but Van Eckhardt have no information yet on the extent of the other driver’s injuries.
Highway 1 was blocked as helicopters landed and sent the victims to the hospital, and cleanup crew removed debris of the crash. It was reopened in both directions around 6:30 pm.
