May 18, 2010
Santa Monica - A four-car collision occurred along Malibu Canyon Road near Pacific Coast Highway which left three people injured, Tuesday morning.
California Highway Patrol Officer Eric Villalobos said that the accident, which happened around 8 a.m., caused the road to be closed in both directions. Motorists had to be detoured onto Piuma Road. Malibu Canyon was reopened two hours later.
The accident is currently under investigation. It is still unknown whether the cars were all cruising on the same direction or if one or more crossed over the barrier.
The patients were taken to an area hospital, but LA County Fire Inspector Frederic Stowers said that they originally asked for a helicopter, but had to settle for an ambulance due to foggy weather.
Information about the victims is still unknown.
