CAR ACCIDENT: Former NFL player Nick Rogers dies in single-car accident

May 4, 2010

Atlanta, GA - Nick Rogers, Georgia Tech's four-year NFL veteran, sustained fatal injuries in a single-car accident in College Park, near Atlanta on Monday at 1:30 a.m.

Rogers, 30 years old, died instantly when his car struck a utility pole while traversing the left side of the road, said Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The 250-pound linebacker played with Indianapolis, Minnesota, Miami, and Green Bay.

He played with the Packers and Colts in 2004, and made his last game with the Dolphins in 2005.

Rogers ventured into barber shop and home repair business after his football career. Rogers was recently married to Kia Jackson-Rogers.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kia and the rest of Rogers' family and friends,” said former Tech teammate Sean Gregory.
