CAR CRASH: Female passenger killed in Henderson solo car accident

Henderson – A 28-year-old woman was killed Saturday night after the vehicle she was riding fell down a 25-foot embankment on McCormick Road near Galleria Drive, the California Highway Patrol said.
According to reports from the Clark County coroner’s office, Shanna LaPelusa, of Henderson, suffered fatal chest injuries after being ejected from the vehicle.
Authorities responded to the accident which happened at around 11:10 p.m.
The driver of the car, Summer D. Mackie, 26, was arrested on suspected DUI violation. Investigation showed that both alcohol and over-speeding were factors in the single car accident.
Investigators are awaiting test results on the suspect’s blood alcohol content.
