CAR ACCIDENT: Driver Dies after Crashing into Concrete Pillar in Thermal

Thermal - A 21-year-old female car driver died after crashing into a concrete pillar along Highway 86, said Riverside County coroner’s officials.
According to the website of California Highway Patrol (CHP), the woman was moving south along 58th Avenue west of Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport at a speed of 85 mph when she suddenly crashed into the bridge support.
The woman was trapped inside the wrecked sedan, which then caught fire after the crash.
Reports said the fire was put out by other road users before the fire crew arrived at the accident area.
The woman was rushed to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, where she was announced dead. Her identity has not yet been released by the authorities.
