DUI: Drunk Driver Arrested for Fatal Crash

Modesto - A man suspected of driving under the influence was held by police when his vehicle went off road near Carpenter Road and hit a tree killing his female passenger Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports indicate that the 22-year-old driver, Abraham Perez, was on a westbound 1995 BMW 540i that was speeding along Hatch Road when he failed to negotiate a road curve.
The vehicle got off the road and hit an almond tree. The unidentified female passenger died at the scene while Perez was brought to Doctors Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
Perez is arrested on DUI charges and vehicular manslaughter.
