CAR ACCIDENT: DUI Driver Crashes Pick-up Truck on 101 Highway

Los Angeles-A drunk driver crashed his Toyota Tacoma on southbound Highway 101, injuring himself and a passenger on Monday morning. Reports said Ronald Hernandez (23) was driving near El Capitan State Beach Road when he lost control of the pick-up truck. It swerved and rolled over, blocking two southbound lanes. He suffered head and upper body trauma, while Armen Sarkisan (27) sustained more severe injuries.
Paramedics arrived and transported the two to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, according to Los Angeles police reports.
Los Angeles Police Officers commented that Hernandez exceeded the Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) limit and was facing felony DUI charges. The 101 Highway southbound lanes resume operations after two hours.
Authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
