Car accidents can happen to anyone, at any place, at any time. Even Hollywood celebrities, for all their fame and notoriety are certainly not exempt from being involved or being held liable in car accidents.
Here’s a list of stars who’ve made the headlines and whose car accidents contain all the elements of a good film, action, drama and yes, even tragedy.
Actress and singer, Brandy Norwood was involved in a four-car pile-up on a Los Angeles freeway on December 30, 2006. Norwood’s Landrover struck and killed Awateg Aboudihaj who was driving the family’s Toyota Corolla on L.A.'s 405 Freeway.
Shia LaBeouf, star of Transformers and Indiana Jones movie was involved in a car collision where he injured his hand as well as his passenger, Isabel Lucas on the early morning hours of July 27, 2008. Authorities arrested the actor on misdemeanor drunk driving charges but was announced later that LaBeouf was not at fault in the accident, saying that the other driver had run a red light.
Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman was injured on August 3, 2008 in an automobile accident in Mississippi. His car, a Nissan Maxima left the highway and flipped over several times. He broke his shoulder, arm and elbow in the crash.
Nick Logan, race car driver and son of the famous wrestler Hulk Hogan was involved in a serious single car crash in Clearwater, Florida on August 26, 2007. The car he was driving fishtailed and spun across the road, crashing into the median strip and struck a palm tree. One of the passengers sustained eye and brain injuries that will leave him in a nursing home because he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Heiress and celebrity Paris Hilton was arrested in September 2006 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Her driving license was suspended in November 2006 and was later pulled over twice for driving with a suspended license as well as speeding.
Haley Joel Osment who notably starred in The Sixth Sense and Pay It Forward was involved in a single-driver automobile accident on July 20, 2006, in which he struck a brick mailbox and overturned his car while driving near his home. The actor was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and had a broken rib, fractured right shoulder blade, cuts and abrasions.
Finally, Lindsay Lohan, a popular actress and singer was involved in a series of car accidents. She suffered minor injuries in crashes in August 2004, October 2005, and November 2006. She faced several charges on driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
