Collision Kills Skateboarder, Driver Not Arrested

Vista – A collision between a skateboarder and a vehicle has resulted to the death of a 24-year-old man who was said to have cut into the path of the approaching vehicle early Sunday morning near South Emerald Drive, authorities said.
The accident happened at around 1 a.m. after the westbound skateboarder crossed the path of an eastbound 1987 BMW driven by a 23-year-old man along Hacienda Drive. The driver was not arrested.
The skateboarder died before being transported to a hospital despite rescuers’ efforts to save him.
The identity of the victim is yet to be released as police continue to investigate the accident.
There were no reported charges filed against the unidentified driver.
