Car Crash: Car hits tree; injury sends one to hospital

Alpine – At least one person was severely injured Sunday midnight after his car crashed into a tree in East County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened around 12:30 am when a vehicle wrecked two sign posts and hit a tree along the 9700 block of Dunbar Lane.
A Heartland Fire dispatcher said that the actual number of people harmed was unclear, but an ambulance already took the injured to Sharp Memorial Hospital.
The injured were supposed to be transported with an air ambulance but the unpleasant weather made it unsafe for them to fly.
