Car crashed through couple's house in Lomita
October 8, 2009
Lomita - A car, driven by a woman lost control and plowed through a white picket fence before hitting the side of a triplex house.
“It just sounded like things [were] crashing [on] the floor,” said Bobbi Martinez, who was renting the house. “I thought my cat had knocked everything off the wall, but I was half asleep and then my boyfriend ran out there and said, ‘There’s a car in the kitchen.’”
Police said the car was severely damaged; the firemen had a hard time pulling the driver out of it. Luckily, the female driver only sustained minor injuries. The paramedics brought the victim to the hospital, said Capt. Mike Mungovan from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Martinez was renting the house with her boyfriend. Both were not hurt by the accident. But it ruined two walls of their kitchen. The car didn’t hit the gas meters thus no lines were damaged.
