Car Collision Blamed in Pacific Coast Highway Closure

Wilmington – An early morning car accident has led to the closure of the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) last Tuesday, causing traffic congestion for a few hours.
Authorities said the accident occurred at the junction of PCH and Figueroa Street where a car suddenly crossed over the other side of the road and struck a trash truck head-on.
Reports said the car driver, a woman in her 40s, died instantly at the scene of the accident while the occupants of the truck were seriously injured and taken to nearby hospital by rescuers.
The police are still determining the cause of the accident.
The highway was opened to traffic a few hours later after the investigations.
