CAR ACCIDENT: 2 People Die, 771 Customers Lose Power in Chatsworth Crash

Los Angeles - At least two people died after a car struck a power pole and fire hydrant in Chatsworth on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.

According to reports, George Lopez was traveling on Lassen Street and Topanga Canyon Boulevard when he hit a power pole and a fire hydrant. He and a female passenger, Jennifer Ramos, were pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The accident caused downed power lines to 771 customers. Officials were able to resume electricity to households at 12:45 p.m., reports said.

Reports said the accident scene was just five intersections away from the police sobriety roadblock.

Authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
