VEHICLE COLLISION: 1 Killed, Another Injured in South Fresno 2-Vehicle Collision

Fresno- An elderly driver has died while another one sustained major injuries following a two-vehicle collision, said California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers.
According to reports, a westbound 2003 Honda being driven by Maria Gutierrez, 59, was at a stop sign along Clovis Avenue while a northbound vehicle driven by Lorraine Arcelus, 75, from Fresno, was moving towards an intersection along Clovis.
The Honda then moved into the intersection, towards the path of the other vehicle. Arcelus tried to avoid a collision, but ended up hitting the Honda.
Gutierrez sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Meanwhile, Arcelus was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center to be treated for major injuries.
